Skunky’s Completes Major Cleanup for ADOT’s I-10 Broadway Curve Mega-Project
In May 2023, Skunky’s Junk Removal was subcontracted by Police and FNF through a joint venture for ADOT’s I-10 Broadway Curve Mega-Project, in collaboration with the Federal Highway Administration and the Maricopa Association of Governments.
This massive infrastructure upgrade improved an 11-mile stretch of the I-10 freeway between Loop 202 and I-17, including new HOV lanes, collector-distributor lanes, bridges, and improved freeway connections. The Broadway Curve is one of the busiest traffic areas in the Phoenix Metro, making safe and efficient work essential.
Skunky’s played a key role in keeping the project site clean and safe, providing professional litter and debris removal services. Our crews removed vehicle parts, construction debris, and landscape waste from active roadways, shoulders, medians, ramps, and landscaped areas.
We’re proud to report the project was completed safely and successfully in July 2025, with zero injuries or safety violations — a testament to our commitment to quality, safety, and professionalism.
Skunky’s Earns $12,500 in Awards for Business Excellence
At Skunky’s Junk Removal, we believe that sustainable growth starts with continuous learning and strong partnerships. In early 2025, our company was selected to participate in the Small Business Academy, powered by SRP and presented by ASU’s Edson E+I Institute.
This six-week program helps small businesses learn how to successfully collaborate with larger agencies and organizations across Arizona. The curriculum covered essential topics such as cybersecurity, financial management, marketing, capability statements, business health checkups, and procurement navigation — all aimed at helping businesses grow responsibly and effectively.
At the end of the program, participants competed in a Pitch Competition judged by leading corporate partners. Out of 75–100 attendees, Skunky’s Junk Removal was chosen as a finalist. Using the lessons learned, owner Ronnie Pedregon delivered a powerful five-minute pitch that earned both the Grand Prize and the Audience Award, totaling $12,500 in direct business growth investments.

Participants represented their neighborhoods in a variety of activities ranging from water balloon tosses and cornhole to pickleball, bocce ball, putt-putt golf, and mahjong. The games were a celebration of teamwork, laughter, and local pride — values we share deeply at Skunky’s.
